SQA Consulting Attains Cyber Essentials Plus Accreditation

Treatment and management of our client’s data is extremely important to us, and as part of our ongoing commitment to cybersecurity, we are very pleased to announce that SQA Consulting has achieved certification to the UK government’s Cyber Essentials Plus scheme.

The NCSC Cyber Essentials scheme defines a baseline standard of security for businesses in the UK.  It outlines the controls that all organisations should implement to help mitigate cyber risks from internet-based threats.

Daniel Oates-Lee, Head of Enterprise Security at SQA Consulting led the charge in obtaining the coveted accreditation, and he emphasised how following these standards will enable SQA Consulting to show our commitment to staying secure as well as to keeping our clients as secure as possible.

It is also valuable for our clients when it comes to meeting their own security regulations.

Holding the Cyber Essentials certification can help organisations avoid costly mistakes related to a data breach. It can also help meet other, quality-related regulatory needs.

Cyber Essentials concentrates on five key areas:

  • Securing connectivity to the internet
  • The secure configuration of software and devices used within the business
  • Strong access control to data and services
  • Suitable processes and mechanisms for protecting against malicious software, viruses, and malware
  • Effective application and operating system patch management

This certification marks another step on our journey of continuous cybersecurity improvement and adds a level of independent assurance that we’re doing the right things, to help protect our systems and services.
